Our Staff

Meet the friendly staff at All Creatures Small!

  • Camille Telleen
    DVM
    Owner

    Years in Practice: 32

Education: Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine

I grew up on a small farm in northeast Iowa and early on discovered a kinship with animals. In the third grade I made the decision that I wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up and it stuck with me. I graduated from ISU with a degree in Animal Science and went on to Veterinary School also at ISU. I worked at small animal hospitals in Peoria and Des Moines for the first couple of years after graduation before starting my own here in Indianola, where my husband and I had moved back to in order to live on my grandparent’s farm, which will become a century farm in 2030. We raised three kids there as well as countless animals of numerous species.
Even though I have been practicing veterinary medicine for decades now, I’m still sure I made the right choice for a career. I still love animals and I still love learning. Veterinary medicine has advanced dramatically in the past thirty some years that I have been out of school and there are endless possibilities in the future. In true nerd form I actually really enjoy attending continuing education events. I also love to read, garden (badly), travel and spend time with my own animals, friends and family.
